Our Goals

Gwinnett Christian Athletics Organization (GCAthletics.Org.) desires to serve the Lord as thoroughly as possible through a structured program of organized athletics. We believe a team experience and the personal challenge offered by athletics are valuable components of a complete education. Our student athletes are expected to meet the demands of our rigorous academic program as well as daily practice requirements and game schedules. Athletes are encouraged to accept active leadership roles both on and off the field or court, and to exhibit behavior that is consistent with the high ideals of integrity and sportsmanship pleasing to God. All athletes are encouraged to do their best, but most importantly, to do it heartily as unto God and not unto man (Colossians 3:17, 23).

Each athlete will receive instruction that helps him/her to develop the ability he/she possesses for God’s glory. They will be disciplined and trained in leadership, encouraged to promote school spirit and unity, and encouraged to demonstrate Christian character.

Through Gwinnett Christian Athletics Organization, we aim to accomplish the following objectives:

  • To develop within each student athlete the positive character qualities of Jesus Christ, conforming ourselves to His image, and openly expressing those characteristics to others through athletic competition.
  • To learn to give maximum effort for the glory of God in every aspect of the athletic program.
  • To glorify God in word and deed by presenting a positive witness and testimony for Jesus Christ to the lost.
  • To teach the biblical principle of respect for authority; players respect for coaches; coaches, players and fans respect for officials; and all a respect and reverence for God.
  • To instill within every player the principle of setting aside our individual desires and goals for the good of the team.
  • To provide opportunities within athletic competition to learn self-discipline and self-control, because true individual character traits are often revealed in the heat of competition.
  • To encourage and provide opportunities for student athletes to produce a healthy body (‘temple of the Holy Spirit’).
  • To do everything with a ‘total release’ of all mental and physical ability, and all emotional energy (100% effort), in order to play with complete concentration, and then releasing the results to God.
  • To live in word and deed as ambassadors for Jesus Christ, for His glory.

Our Purpose

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go, I will counsel you and watch over you.”
Psalms 32:8 (NIV)

It has often been said that there is no better classroom than the athletic arena. As a coach the opportunities abound to instruct, teach, train, and mold an athlete into a closer reflection of God, His ways and His priorities. In order to attain this goal, as an organization we are prepared to give instruction on policy, to motivate the coach to excellence, to provide consistent guidelines for athletics in Gwinnett Christian Athletics Organization and to be a resource guide. It is our desire that our coaches be continually “coached” by the Holy Spirit, enabling us to bring glory to God through successful athletic programs at Gwinnett Christian Athletics Organization (GCAthletics.org).

I started at Victory World Athletics Ministry two years ago. I signed up my son Richard Quinland for basketball and my daughter Kayla Burmant for cheerleading. To my surprise I thought I was signing my children up for just sports but over time I came to find family and friends.

God is truly amazing… truly!! Allowing my children and me to share in this ministry has been an amazing journey, one I look forward to continuing. I almost walked right pass my blessing.

Being part of the Victory World Church athletics ministry has been so much more than sports for our family. Through basketball and cheer, my girls have grown spiritually, made new friends, and pushed themselves to become stronger and healthier.

It’s been 8 years since the beginning and we’ve seen some leave and new people come aboard, but it’s always the same…..people who come into Victory World Athletics Ministry are on fire for God. We still have the closeness; the family atmosphere. I believe my children, as well as, myself are better people because of this ministry. Kudos to Coach Greg for the vision and to Rosa, his wife, for letting him run with it. You two are amazing!

“I was not only taught the fundamentals of basketball but the fundamentals of Christianity. My coaches taught me how to do a lay-up as well as lay my burdens down for God to carry.”

“I am so blessed to have been a part of this ministry and the lives of the directors”
